Summary Posted: May 4, 2022 Role Number: 200374601 The Special Project Group (SPG) at Apple is currently looking for an exceptional candidate to lead the sense architecture team. As a successful applicant you will provide strategic direction to a team of talented architects developing and evaluating sensing hardware solutions for autonomous systems. You will work cross functionally with domain experts in sensor hardware, signal processing implementation, autonomy algorithms, systems engineering, and safety to perform system level trade-offs and provide robust assessments of architectural options. You must have a strong understanding of various sensing modalities’ strengths and limitations, associated algorithms, and general understating of perception systems. Prior experience in full product lifecycle is highly desired. You must feel passionate about guiding high permanence teams developing complex systems with multi-disciplinary teams and delivering within aggressive timelines. Experience with use case analysis and requirement processes. Good understanding of optical and/or RF sensors physics and signal processing. Description Description Manage and provide technical and strategic guidance to a team of talented architects, who perform a wide range of tasks including:
- Conduct assessments of optical sensing systems to meet an array of use cases.
- Perform simulations to generate system and module level requirements for cameras, lighting, optical depth sensors, RF systems, and audio sensors.
- Architect, develop and prototype practical and implementable algorithms.
- Perform large scale data analysis and generate validation metrics
- Build tools for sense validation, generate and execute sense validation plans
Advise on the trades between different sensor hardware, software and algorithms.
Deliver executive level presentations. The base pay range for this role is between $192,700 and $351,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
