Summary Posted: Mar 29, 2023 Role Number: 200422203 The Apple Special Projects Group is looking for a safety champion with experience in human performance, requirements engineering, and hazard and risk analysis on safety critical systems. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to perform safety analysis, design and execute protocols to mitigate risks, and produce safety requirements for activities within the Systems Integrity organization. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure that the implementation, verification, and validation of technologies are executed following strict safety requirements. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 5+ years of relevant work experience with testing safety critical systems (2+ years in robotics preferred) Experience leading complex, fast-paced initiatives across multiple teams with conflicting priorities and schedules. Demonstrated ability to build consensus across multiple functions (engineering, operations, etc.) to create safety critical processes & systems. Experience identifying safety hazards and developing operational safety requirements for complex systems. Solid understanding of verification and validation processes for complex systems. Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities within a Research & Development environment. Experience with human subject experiments and related ethics. A strong passion and dedication to create and enforce a culture of safety in principle and in practice. Description Description In this fast-paced role, you must be comfortable leading or largely contributing to cross-functional efforts to: Perform detailed analysis on software and hardware releases to identify safety gaps and develop a robust test plan strategy to meet the needs of data customers. Drive safety analysis, hazard identification, and hazard mitigation initiatives for the broader testing organization. Lead investigations into safety concerns and other potential issues that could pose risk to the safety of the public or employees in the field. Track field safety issues from discovery to close-out, and drive priority based on systematic assessments of risk. Identify and assess performance trends by analyzing data across multiple databases and systems. Continue to iterate and improve safety team processes. Create and maintain organization process assets for the safety team. Education & Experience Education & Experience Degree in Engineering or related field Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Program/project management experience. Experience working with autonomous systems or machine learning. 3+ years experience in Confluence and JIRA. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 and $241,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
