Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Design Architecture

We will work closely within our product design team to develop ground-breaking core technologies that will surprise and delight our customers. Since we are inventing entirely new product forms and features, you will be interacting with engineers across many disciplines in the company. The ‘Characterization and Advanced Prototyping’ team defines new test methods to gather data about potential design solutions in order to define performance metrics and requirements to create reliable products for the customer. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 5+ years demonstrated ability in industry 3D CAD modeling (UG preferred) Fundamental knowledge of materials (plastics/metals/glass/composites) Knowledge of manufacturing methods (forming, injection molding, CNC, etc.) Experience in design characterization, DOEs (design of experiment), and failure analysis Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools Knowledge of finite element analysis theory Excellent communication skills Attention to detail in building precision models and test vehicles Experience in Python and MATLAB Description Description Assisting in the development of new product concepts, technologies, manufacturing & integration methods Prototyping new product ideas by 3D modeling, fabricating, and assembling Designing fixtures/test vehicles and running tests to characterize multiple design options Retrofitting products with new features/technologies to evaluate performance and reliability Gathering, analyzing and presenting data to inform key design decisions Education & Experience Education & Experience B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Additional Requirements Additional Requirements
