Apple is seeking for an outstanding optical module engineer who can contribute to the design, prototyping, and validation of ground breaking display technologies. In this role, you'll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to develop new display products and lead all aspects of their mass production. You'll serve as the focal point for all display matters, leading and collaborating with multi-functional teams to deliver an outstanding display experience to our customers. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience in the field of optics with a strong emphasis on driving project through iterative stages of design/modeling, tolerancing, manufacturing, and metrology Expertise in sequential and non-sequential rays trace tools (e.g., Zemax, LightTools), design, analysis, optimization, and tolerancing Experience in mass production of consumer optical devices and managing domestic and international vendors Strong working knowledge of optical metrology methods and instrumentation Proficiency in one or more scientific computing languages (e.g., Matlab, C, /C++/C#, Python, etc.) for the data analysis and optical modeling Strong presentation, communication, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills Description Description - Own module master specifications, from pre-concept phase through mass production ramp - Design, optimize, and tolerance display optical systems involving illumination, imaging, and diffractive optics - Work with key stakeholders to iterate design, account for process limitation, follow through between modeling and as-built performance - Lead the multi-functional team, establishing clear goals and priorities throughout the product development and launch process - Effectively communicate across the company and gain vital support from key Apple leaders - Travel to support build at component, module, and system factories during critical new product introduction phases Education & Experience Education & Experience M.S. or Ph.D. in Optical Science/Engineering, EE, or related field with 3+ years of proven experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Preferred Qualifications: Experience in stray light analysis and mitigation Experience in design, modeling, and manufacturing of diffractive optical elements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
