The Platform Kernel team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for an exceptional engineer to work on state-of-the art kernel technology for macOS and iOS. Working on a core technology for Darwin, you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple's operating systems. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Deep understanding of the C programming language Previous experience with UNIX kernel engineering Genuine passion for kernel technology and systems engineering Programming in ARM assembly Understanding of modern CPU design Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms & processor architectures Low level debugging experience Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules Excellent collaborative skills including written and verbal communication Description Description - Work with a highly skilled engineering team in the design and implementation of kernel technologies - Drive product features and specifications on Apple’s product line - Bring up, verification, and debug of new hardware platforms - Work with cross-functional teams to support product requirements Education & Experience Education & Experience BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/skills Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Experience with multiple hardware architectures Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
