Summary Posted: May 16, 2023 Role Number: 200479253 The Imaging and Sensing group at Apple develops Depth and Image Sensing systems such as the ground-breaking True Depth camera that powers FaceID and the recently released LiDAR scanner. This multi-disciplinary group of innovative engineers is responsible for architecture, design, development and validation of these highly complex sensing systems, aimed for Apple products. This team is looking for a System Characterization and Validation Student to work on advanced electro-optical system development. The Imaging and Sensing group at Apple develops depth sensing systems such as the ground-breaking True Depth camera that powers FaceID, as well as other cameras in Apple products. This multi-disciplinary group of engineers is responsible for architecture, design, and development of these highly complex sensing systems for Apple products. THE NATURE OF THIS ROLE: Be part of a core technology team designing, developing and validating advanced solutions for future products Evaluate and execute characterization, test, and validation aspects of our cutting-edge sensing systems, starting at the early phases (lab prototypes) till complete system maturity (Mass Production) Design and execute complex lab-based experiments followed by detailed analysis backed-up by simulations Build, execute and improve lab automation for products evaluation Conduct data driven based analysis required for decision making Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 1-3 years of hands on experience with Matlab and/or python Experience with Optical Lab / test equipment (Interferometers, Spectrometers, and Ad-Hoc optical table setups) – Preferred Experience in Robotics field - Preferred Proven Team playing and self-learning capabilities Remaining tuition of 2-3 years Ability to work on site, minimum of 2.5 days a week Description Description Imagine what you could do here.
