Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 5+ years of industry Machine Learning experience Knowledge of the machine learning pipeline, from data processing to training to performance analysis Expertise with PyTorch as a user Knowledge of scalable distributed systems and their application to machine learning Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including software debugging Successfully code in Python and you have ability to navigate with C/C++ Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to work hands-on in multi-functional teams Description Description The System Intelligence and Machine Learning (SIML) team in the Intelligent Systems Experience organization (ISE) is looking for a Machine Learning engineer. The position involves development work focused on improving an ecosystem of tools touching the entire machine learning pipeline, with a focus on large scale model training and compression for on-device deployment. This ecosystem is used across the company to build exciting machine learning technologies. These technologies have a direct impact on improving the experience of millions of users which involve advanced perception and reasoning. The main tasks associated to this position range from software development to system administration, and include handling engineer support and feedback to guide development, as well as communication with supporting services. Education & Experience Education & Experience M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related field (mathematics, physics or computer engineering) or comparable professional experience; or equivalent experience. Experience with macOS and iOS development tools and familiarity with GPU programming is desirable. Knowledge of Objective-C/Swift is desirable. Experience in industry is a plus. Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
