This engineer will architect, develop and integrate DSP, controls and perception based algorithms onto a real time system. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for integration into a broader system platform and optimize thread management, loop timing and ISRs related to physical peripherals. The ideal candidate has worked at the intersection of hardware, firmware and algorithms and enjoys fast paced highly cross-functional teamwork. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Skilled in the development, theory, and design of realtime sensor or actuation systems. Must have domain expertise in at least one of the following: DSP, 3D sensor data product manipulation or control systems. Expert in C/C++ for real time embedded systems Expert in Matlab/Simulink and code-generation work flows Expert in source control (eg. GIT) on multi developer projects Experience coordinating, communicating and escalating issues to MCU vendors (ST, NXP, TI, etc…) Experience implementing FW on ARM based embedded targets. Description Description In this role you will partner with controls, actuation, power electronics and embedded FW engineers to develop robust and efficient firmware for unique applications.
Responsibilities include:
Drive controls and sensing FW architecture, development flows, and integration on new hardware
Communicate progress cross-functionally (written, verbal, and presentation)
Develop diagnostics, fault handling and transition prototype code in to production
Optimize embedded system design to minimize compute utilization, transport and processing delays in the pursuit of performance.
Mentor and grow junior firmware & integration engineers
Act as a technical leader representing the team with cross functional software development peers
Perform failure analysis and problem solving with internal (Apple) and external (vendor) partners. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
