The Environment and Supply Chain Innovation (ESCI) group is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer with experience in managing safety in high hazard environments, experience with combustible dust is preferred. This role holds a critical responsibility in ensuring the safe implementation and operation of emerging manufacturing technologies across our global supply chain. As the Senior Process Safety Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, mitigating, and managing high hazards associated with new manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate is a passionate and experienced safety professional with a track record of driving positive change cross-functionally. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Proven track record of developing and managing process safety programs, with a strong specialization in combustible dust management Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and formulate strategic recommendations Deep understanding of dust explosion theories, NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 654, 68, 69), and other relevant industry guidelines. Proficiency in conducting process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP and What-if assessments, with experience in various methodologies. Experience managing complex programs including setting goals, vendor management and executing to roadmap with cross-functional dependencies Description Description - Lead the evaluation and analysis of combustible dust hazards associated with emerging manufacturing technologies, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and develop effective hazard control strategies.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in combustible dust hazard management, providing guidance on the integration of safety measures into the design, installation, and operation of new manufacturing processes.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHA), including HAZOP, FMEA, and QRA, and ensure that appropriate safeguards are implemented.
- Establish methodology of communicating and tracking corrective actions identified during PHA process to include verification procedures.
- Drives scoping & implementation of engineering safety/ hazard mitigation design strategies.
- Develop and implement robust safety and health hazard management programs, aligning with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to ensure adequate control methods and considerations are fully integrated into project plans and operational procedures.
- Support the selection, design, and implementation of engineering controls and protective measures to mitigate dust hazards, such as dust collection systems, explosion protection devices, and isolation methods.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and contractors, raising awareness of high hazard categories and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.
- Engage with suppliers and vendors to ensure the integration of effective process safety measures, conducting thorough assessments of their safety controls, and fostering open communication to enhance the overall safety performance of operational processes.
- Dispersion analysis, flammability analysis, consequence modeling, combustible dust hazards, reactive hazard analyses & evaluation, is a plus.
This role requires constant cross-functional engagement with ESCI program teams, communications, product design, material specialists and automation systems experts. This role will also collaborate with others across operations and procurement to exercise commercial leverage on the supply chain. Education & Experience Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection Engineering, candidates with relevant engineering experience or a related field; advanced degree preferred

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,900 and $263,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
