If so, Apple's Global Business Intelligence (GBI) team is seeking an expert Data Engineer to build high quality, scalable and resilient distributed systems that power apple's analytics platform and data pipelines. Apple's Enterprise Data warehouse landscape caters to a wide variety of real-time, near real-time and batch analytical solutions. These solutions are integral part of business functions like Sales, Operations, Finance, AppleCare, Marketing and Internet Services, enabling business drivers to make critical decisions. We leverage diverse technology stacks such as Snowflake, AWS, Singlestore, ML, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra and beyond. Designing, developing and scaling these big data technologies are a core part of our daily job. The ideal candidate for this position will be able think outside of the box and should have passion for building analytics solutions to enable our business partners to make time sensitive and critical decisions. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications In-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms Programming experience in building high quality software. Skills with Java, Python or Scala preferred Experience in crafting and developing ETL data pipelines. Should be proficient in writing Advanced SQLs, Expertise in performance tuning of SQLs Demonstrate strong understanding of development processes and agile methodologies Ability to partner with technical business teams, ensuring that the Data Team is actively engaging Developing a deep understanding of current data needs, as well as driving data strategy for GBI Hands-on experience engineering and documenting process flows Validated expertise with Tableau, SQL and other data visualization tools Hands-on experience leading technology projects and ability to drive cooperation between Data Team, Application Managers and the rest of GBI Excellent problem solving abilities Able to effectively coordinate work and communication across disparate groups of individuals and levels in the organization Thrive in a multifaceted environment, maintaining poise and a positive attitude Strong analytical and communication skills Self-driven, highly motivated and ability to learn quick Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, perform optimally under dynamic conditions such as directional changes, tight deadlines and limited resources, is a must Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are important Description Description In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, while meeting data warehousing design standards. You will have a strong understanding of analytics needs and a proactive approach, focusing on reusable solutions to improve the efficiency. You will build dashboards using Self-Service tools like Tableau and perform iterative data analysis to support business. You will collaborate with multiple multi-functional teams and work on solutions which has larger impact on Apple business. You will identify analytics and opportunities that will craft the future of the GBI team by explaining methodology to business users, implementing analysis and interpreting results. You will work with a team of developers who implement quick turn and long lead analytics projects that provide insights into our customers and business trends. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $92,700 and $179,100 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
