Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 5+ years in relevant prototyping experience A sub-selection of flexible prototyping skills such as optics setup, machining, and 3D printing Strong layout and PCB design skills Able to bring up new hardware and prototypes with FW/embedded SW Can create scripts and SW to model and test new devices in Matlab, Python, or C Strong verbal communication skills across organizations Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions Description Description Apple is seeking a highly motivated builder, a curious and innovative Systems Prototype Engineer to help bring amazing products to life. These are the products that only Apple could imagine, and more importantly, deliver! Your role, within the System Prototyping Team is to modify new and existing hardware for testing and create prototypes to test concepts as a part of product development and definition. This role is a critical part of the overall Architecture Design and Systems Engineering at VPG. The ideal candidate is someone who loves understanding how things work, has a broad capacity to learn new things and demonstrated capability building prototypes.

Breadth of engineering skills and experience. The team is a collection of talented engineers from across EE, ME, optical and SW disciplines. You’ll need to communicate effectively with everyone to help deliver projects holistically.
Organized, detail-oriented worker, understanding how to work with complex systems. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
