Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Proficiency with 3D CAD Tools: Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks, ProEngineer, etc. Consistent record in design and implementation of test apparatus. Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA). Experience with GR&R and equipment qualification. Experience with engineering of any of the following: test and measurement, automation, wafer handling, consumer electronics or medical devices, automotive assemblies, injection molding, jigs, tooling, or fixtures. Ability to communicate well with multi-functional and cross company team members and be able to efficiently collaborate to achieve project goals. Description Description The Tools and Equipment Development team with Battery Engineering is responsible for specifying and realizing next generation test and automation apparatus. We need people with expertise in mechanical engineering skills to conceive, specify and help realize test apparatus to enable the next generation of ground breaking modules. Responsibilities include the following: - Design and develop test fixtures, rigs, or frames - Develop CAD models for test systems - Review architectural and mechanical designs. - Review CAD drawings, models and prototypes. - Participate in design validation and characterization during prototype bring up and product deployment. - Drive failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to reach design solutions and corrective actions. - Conduct design reviews and acceptance testing. Education & Experience Education & Experience BSME required, MSME preferred with 4+ years of related industry experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Desirable skills but not required: - GD&T, statistical process control, or CP/CPK techniques - Knowledge and experience with 6 sigma design practices - Knowledge of statistical analysis - Experience in sheet metal design - Knowledge of electromechanical test and control systems - Understanding of metrology systems and methods - Experience with PCB integration and flex circuits
