This role involves leading a team in collaboration with cross-functional groups within Apple's dynamic setting! Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Proven leadership and management expertise in delivering video compression/vision projects, coupled with a track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams Expert knowledge and experience in video and image compression principles, algorithms, and techniques, video real-time/ live streaming and downloading, and various video formats such as SDR and HDR Expert knowledge and experience in development of video compression standards, such as H.264, HEVC, VVC, VP9, AV1, AV2 Expert knowledge and experience in video processing algorithms such as spatial and temporal scaling, noise reduction, tone mapping First-hand experiences on software design and debugging workflow Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experienced in assessing visual quality using both objective metrics and subjective techniques Familiarity with the latest computer vision and machine learning technologies Description Description This position requires a candidate with leadership, vision, creative & analytic skills, and a passion for video coding and processing technologies.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the invention and implementation of new video compression/processing algorithms that works well with existing and future hardware, software and video streaming infrastructure
- Spearhead R&D in upcoming new media compression technologies and standards

The base pay range for this role is between $183,400 and $316,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
