The Constrained Performance Model is responsible for simulating overall performance and efficiency of Apple System on Chip (SoC) in the presence of electrical, thermal and reliability constraints and control systems. In this highly visible role as a Constrained Performance Modeling Engineer, you will play the central role of driving the development of these simulators and collaborate with the multi-functional team of SoC, System and Software Architects to influence the design of future Apple products. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a BS and a minimum of 20 years relevant Power Architecture experience in addition to: Experience in high-performance and low power microprocessor architecture and design techniques Good understanding in control system application and behavior Expertise in high-performance SoC power delivery and thermals Excellent modeling and simulator development skills. Able to code in C, Python and similar programming languages Description Description As a Modeling Engineer you will,
• Build and maintain performance model under constrained power and thermals. Identify and prepare new workloads for analysis
• Work with architects and design teams to characterize workloads. Find opportunities to optimize product targets
• Work with control engineers to model and optimize the latest power, thermal and reliability control systems
• Work with system design engineers to guide the design of form factors Education & Experience Education & Experience BS and a minimum of 20 years relevant industry experience. MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $199,800 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
