Summary Posted: Oct 3, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200505094 Apple is seeking an International Tax Manager to assist with U.S. international inbound and outbound tax planning related to Apple’s various digital products and services offerings. The ideal candidate will operate as and become a trusted business partner, working closely with various business teams focused on these offerings to gain a deep understanding of the business vision and model. Using this deep understanding the candidate will help develop comprehensive tax solutions in support of the business, help develop tax requirements that clearly articulate solutions, help drive the end-to-end implementation of the tax requirements, and provide ongoing contract review and related support post implementation. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 10+ years of international tax experience with exposure to, and experience identifying, cross-border tax issues and considerations A passion for digital products and services and the industry Good, working understanding of accounting concepts Advanced computer skills including solid proficiency in Excel, Word, and online research software Hard working, quicker learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners is needed Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management Able to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate and practical recommendations Ability to simplify complex modeling and tax issues into high level presentations for business partners Some travel domestically and internationally Description Description The candidate will work closely with business partners and other members of the global tax department to communicate current and future business plans, obtain and consolidate cross functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross functional tax solutions. Along with collaborating effectively and functioning as a technical tax business advisor, the candidate is encouraged to operate as a tax project manager, driving the gathering, drafting, and implementation of tax guidance.
- Responsible for planning and coordinating tax related aspects of business projects
- Providing international income tax subject matter expertise to various business teams and various product groups
- Providing guidance and input on structuring business operations in light of product and business goals and requirements
- Drafting tax requirements (covering high level structuring through implementation) for projects and new business initiatives
- Actively participating in projects throughout their lifecycle from planning through delivery (including directly or indirectly providing project management support) and ongoing support
- Collaborate with business units to proactively identify and research international tax planning opportunities
- Analyze U.S. international tax laws and apply them to various business proposals
- Analyze potential withholding and digital services tax impacts and compliance obligations
- Ensure indirect tax (e.g. VAT, GST) issues are identified and addressed
- Review or prepare FIN 48 memos and related analysis
- Monitor global policy developments and industry positions relevant to Apple’s global digital business operations
- The ideal candidate must be able to communicate (written and verbal) complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
- May be responsible for reviewing portions of Apple’s US tax return on an as needed basis Education & Experience Education & Experience Must have BA or BS, preferably in Accounting, Taxation or Business; JD, CPA or graduate degree in Accounting, taxation, or business is a plus. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,900 and $250,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
