The OS Performance team is looking for a software engineer with a strong understanding of UI applications and scalable services to help build the next generation of performance monitoring tools. Our work enables 3rd party developers to easily write highly performant apps. A successful candidate will have experience with application development and an interest in optimizing and making the app experience more fluid. The ideal candidate would also understand how to make tradeoffs with production services that support millions of users. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Expertise in application development in either Swift or Objective-C Understand how data influences decision making in software development Aptitude to independently learn new technologies, prototype and propose software design and solutions Passion for product quality and attention to detail Excellent problem solving and critical thinking Prior development in iOS or macOS Excellent spoken and written communication Description Description Contribute to the next generation of performance tooling for applications running on iOS, watchOS, macOS, Vision Pro, and tvOS. Learn and leverage knowledge of Apple’s Operating Systems to provide meaningful insights for developers to tackle challenging performance problems. You will be building tools that allow developers to solve problems in the areas of usability/UX, cross-platform compatibility, and large scale performance issues across production users. Our team owns a wide variety of software across the Apple ecosystem, from on-device performance analysis tooling to server infrastructure for data processing. An ideal candidate will be able to collaborate across both backend, frontend, and engineering teams to build highly effective developer tooling. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $198,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
