Summary Posted: Oct 18, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200493161 Be a significant part of the Hardware Test Engineering Core Infrastructure team that is at the center of the Apple Factory’s Development Process in delivering software rapidly to factories globally. We develop IT systems to improve the productivity of engineers developing Factory test stations for new products. We are looking for a System Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) well versed in building, recreating and maintaining various application environments. Ideal applicant should be a computer systems administrator at their core, experienced in server deployment, with a deep interest in DevOps and SRE. HWTE Core Infrastructure team is looking for a Sr. System Infrastructure Engineer & SRE who will be responsible for maintaining a worldwide assortment of mission-critical UNIX systems running in-house custom applications in support of Apple manufacturing efforts. Candidate should have wide-ranging exposure and different levels of experience with standard Unix technologies, the ability to independently prioritize different projects, and a track record of timely execution using industry best practices. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 10+ Years experience with Unix / Linux system administration with DevOps tools, processes, and culture Proficiency in scripting BASH, zsh, Perl, Ruby or Python Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies tools including Developer environment tools - Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes, AWS Configuration management tools - Ansible, Puppet or similar Code-review and CI technologies: Jenkins, Git (or similar) Experience leveraging and managing 3rd party vendors Description Description This is your chance to join a small and agile team that has proven itself by delivering high-quality products in a timely manner. Responsibilities include: •Hands-on server deployment •Coordinating physical server deployments and server room migrations with cross-functional teams and co-location partners •Participating in the architecting, building and maintenance of the following: •Developer environments for project developer teams •Infrastructure as Code for environment consistency and reproducibility •Scalable environments that meet both developer and customer needs •Working closely with our factory support team to ensure user requests are resolved in a timely manner •Achieve and maintain expected productivity levels with minimal supervision Additional opportunities include: •Giving presentations and colloquium-style tech reviews on best practices to Sr. Management teams •Act as a mentor and interact with team members at all levels of skill and cross-functional expertise Education & Experience Education & Experience BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
