As a member of the Satellite Connectivity Group, you will work on the satellite network that enables connectivity to iPhone when off the grid without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Every day, Apple customers use Emergency SOS via satellite to access emergency assistance when they are in need of help and have no other means to communicate. The team is looking for a senior embedded software engineer to lead the design and implementation of a complex distributed embedded system to enable an exciting new capability. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Expertise in embedded systems fundamentals: baremetal applications, RTOS design, resource efficient software design, hardware peripheral drivers, IRQ handling, etc. Expertise in C/C++, and Python with familiarity of other languages Experience with embedded communication buses: UART, I2C, SPI, CAN Experience with soft processor implementation in FPGAs (Microblaze, RISC-V, etc.) Familiarity with latest industry standards and best practices for code quality and maintainability Ability to read schematics and hardware datasheets Experience with hardware bringup and debug, and basic lab instruments (oscilloscope, etc.) Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills Description Description * Help architect stack from low level drivers to high level APIs to manage and control a distributed hardware system
* Design and implement embedded software on ARM processors as well as soft processors in FPGAs
* Contribute to development infrastructure (toolchain, compiler, debuggers, etc.)
* Evaluate off the shelf software solutions
* Collaborate with hardware team on design, bringup and test applications

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700 and $284,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
