The Apple Services Engineering Search Engineering team is looking for an experienced engineer to help build next-generation media search for Apple's ground breaking devices and platforms, leveraging Machine Learning and Large Language Model (LLM). The ASE Video Search engineering team powers video search for Apple TV app, Siri, Spotlight and more, on iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS across modalities. Strong problem solving skills and be able to write high quality clean and performant code. Quick learner who can learn new technology stacks, programming languages & drive, deliver features with high quality. Strong communication skills. Open to feedback and iterate on solutions collaboratively. Strong background in algorithms, data structures, system design. Knowledge of machine learning or NLP. Description Description We are responsible for video search at ASE (Apple Services Engineering) search engineering Team. We design and build features that empower billions of Apple users. We own our services, from conception, to design, to implementation, to deployment, to operations. Our applications are complex and strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals are essential. As a result, each one of us takes our responsibilities seriously, while having a lot of fun building the best services at scale we can. You are passionate about building ML powered, performant and well-designed search engines and are able to learn existing systems quickly to understand how to bring them to the next level. You are dedicated to doing whatever needs to be done to delight users, whether it be designing or building new components, applying algorithms or training models to enable new search features, optimizing system performance, or extending existing search backend systems to enable new capabilities. The person who joins our team will be responsible for the following: -Be able to reason, influence stakeholders and drive the feature from inception to production launch -Work with cross functional search teams & stakeholders to build new features and maintain the entire search system. -Deliver artifacts, code with high quality Education & Experience Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
