Platform Quality Engineering Manager

Summary Posted: Oct 20, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200510421 The Platform Quality Engineering team develops tests and tools for low level SOC firmwares, silicon software features, bootloaders, SOC Power management, and other low level power technologies tied to hardware and helps shape the quality of our platform software. We are looking for an engineering manager to lead and grow the team. Working on this core technology, you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the success of Apple's products. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Prior leadership and management experience Experience developing automation, workflow and tooling. Ability to Influence without authority among cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Python. C, C++ is a plus Experience with data visualization is a plus Description Description As the manager of the Platform Quality Engineering team you will: Work with our development teams to develop a quality culture, create test plans, and drive quality initiatives Lead the team in designing and implementing new tests to catch hard to find problems earlier in the software development cycle. Drive the analysis of bug trends, assess root cause, and develop corrective action plans. Work with stability, software, hardware and QA teams to systematically improve the overall quality of future OS releases. Set daily priorities for completion of tasks as well as long-term priorities for the team. Work closely with development and quality engineering team to ensure that what is released to customers meets our rigorous quality standards. Guide, mentor, and develop team members to help find their maximum potential. Track team performance to analyze and identify areas of improvement for training, tooling, and workflow. Education & Experience Education & Experience Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
