The Apple AIML Residency is a one-year program for graduates with advanced degrees that is designed to spur interdisciplinary collaboration. The Residency supports experts in various STEM fields as well emerging ML researchers and engineers as they work collaboratively to create revolutionary machine learning and AI-powered products and experiences. Residents gain hands-on experience as members of an AIML team for one year, working on high-impact projects that will impact future Apple products and features. Residents also have the opportunity to learn from an Apple mentor, collaborate with fellow Residents, publish at world-class research venues, attend Apple-led and external technical and leadership courses, pursue independent study, and partner with R&D teams across Apple. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Objective-C, C++, Swift, and/or R. Candidates should have experience completing a moderate-sized software project. Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with others. Ideal candidates will also have academic, research, or industry experience in one of the following: Large Language Models, Machine Learning & ML Research, Natural Language Processing/Speech/Conversational AI. Thesis, capstone project, internship, co-op, and/or industry experience in these fields will qualify. A deep understanding of linguistic complexities of morphologically rich languages as well as fluency in Finnish, Russian or Turkish will be considered a huge plus. Description Description The Global Siri Product Experience team creates groundbreaking user experiences in over 40 languages and dialects using machine learning, NLP, and modern software development. As a Resident, you will work with one of the most exciting environments, privacy preserving ML and software technologies. More specifically, you will partner with several teams to design and implement large-scale ML solutions for morphologically rich languages iterating on them both independently as well as in a collaborative environment. You will share your expertise in this field while continuously learning from your partner teams how to design and structure innovations for global markets that process millions of requests a day across different languages. Education & Experience Education & Experience Graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent proven experience in software engineering.
