Strong experience with optics, optical system design, and detectors is required.

Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Strong background designing optical sensors, emitters, or related technology development Experience with ray-tracing software LightTools, Zemax or CodeV Multi-disciplinary understanding of Optics, EE, Physics, and ME principles Experience in prototyping with optical and electrical lab equipment and data analysis (microscopes, spectrometers, cameras/detectors, oscilloscopes, optical tables, etc.) Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, SPICE, or other simulation and modeling tools + scripting languages Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with IEC-60825 or other relevant laser safety specs is a plus Experience with statistical tolerance analysis in a production setting is a plus Description Description - Design and tolerance optical components for new optical sensors
- Product simulation/analysis using a variety of software tools to support engineering validation and characterization (e.g. Matlab, Zemax, LightTools, JMP, etc.)
- Failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving. Analyze data to draw conclusions, enhance product design/manufacturability
- Lab validation and characterization of new optical sensors and components
- Collaborate and negotiate with cross-functional teams, including Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Process Engineering to deliver innovative sensing solutions
- Generate laser safety FMEA’s and fault tree analysis and drive implementation and validation of identified mitigations
- Travel to support design/production/supplier teams as necessary. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
