The Core Firmware team in Core OS develop and support multiple firmware frameworks and firmwares, including OS loaders for all Apple operating systems, Microsoft Windows, and Linux on both real and virtual systems. We also develop and support a variety of customer-facing firmware features such such as transit-pass support when your iPhone or iPad has entered reserve-power mode. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience leading a software-development team Experience with firmware, device-driver, and/or kernel-level development Knowledge of modern processor architectures and supporting hardware such as memory and IO Proven track record of delivering software aligned with project and program schedules History of setting aggressive yet attainable goals and motivating teams to achieve them Experience with real-time operating systems a plus Description Description The Core Firmware team is seeking an engineering manager to lead a team of firmware and systems software engineers responsible for the real-time OS that is deployed on a variety of embedded processors on Apple’s SoCs. This next-generation firmware ecosystem is designed to support security and privacy obligations as well as a variety of runtimes, including C++ and Swift.
