The team is responsible for developing technologies, calibration methodologies and the respective instrumentation for the calibration and validation of Apple’s products. These solutions will be used during New Product Introduction (NPI) and transferred to mass production. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications >4 year of experience and strong technical background in depth sensing, cameras or optical engineering. Familiarity with cameras as well as optical equipment and performance metrics. Self-motivated, independent, and dedicated. Excellent English communication and presentation skills. Competence in data analysis and algorithm development in Python or Matlab. Thrives in a highly x-functional environment and has a strong willingness to learn. ****** Preferred Skills (not essential) Experience with image processing and computer vision algorithms development. Description Description The role of a Calibration Engineer is to design and deploy effective calibration and test strategies for Apple’s depth sensors across our product range.
Responsibilities include:
X-functional collaboration to define general calibration and test methods for depth cameras applicable across Apple’s full range of products.
Optimization of the calibration and test methods to move towards the next generation of factory testing.
Introduction of new test coverages with minimal impact on current test infrastructure.
Work with a team of SW engineers to implement the calibration and test coverages during NPI.
Develop repeatable and reproducible processes that meet mass production requirements without affecting customer experience.
Simulation and analysis how the calibration of novel depth sensing modules is influenced by the (optical) properties of the test setup. Education & Experience Education & Experience MSc Or PhD in related area Additional Requirements Additional Requirements
