Our group delivers key enabling technologies for software development, from developer tools to continuous integration services. The Developer Engagement team is looking for a User Experience Researcher to investigate, understand, and document how developers at Apple get their jobs done. By understanding how developers currently work, what pain-points they experience, and how they use tools to get their jobs done, you will help shape the future direction of Apple’s tools and services. We are looking for someone who enjoys diving into and learning about new, complex, and highly technical situations and then synthesizes what they have learned into clear, comprehensive, and actionable insights. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience designing, running, and presenting results from numerous user studies in a range of environments Ability to effectively conduct face to face interviews, surveys, and discussion sessions Highly organized and able to drive all phases of a user research Passionate about analyzing data to form insights Excellent data visualization skills and ability to use graphs and charts to highlight data-driven insights A history of strong working relationships with a variety of design, engineering, and product management teams Experience in Design and/or Product Management role a plus Description Description - Leverage any and all research techniques, including but not limited to, interviews, shadowing, user studies, metrics and surveys to understand and quantify how developers at Apple work - Detail the workflows of various roles and groups across Apple to communicate to collaborators how and why tools are used in Apple developer workflows - Drive targeted research efforts to answer specific questions about the developer experience at Apple - Ensure our research is comprehensive and minimize bias in our research process and results - Synthesize and consolidate findings into actionable insights by team leadership - Regularly present the results of our research to a wide range of collaborators including leadership - Leverage data visualizations to drive home key insights In this role you will leverage any and all research techniques, including but not limited to, interviews, shadowing, user studies, metrics and surveys to understand and quantify how developers at Apple work and detail those workflows to communicate to stakeholders how and why various tools are used. In addition, you will be responsible for driving targeted research efforts to answer specific questions about the developer experience at Apple. You will ensure our research is comprehensive and minimize bias in our research process and results. Upon completion, you will be responsible for synthesizing and consolidating findings, ideally leverage data visualizations, into actionable insights and presenting to a wide range of stakeholders including leadership. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $208,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
