Key Qualifications Key Qualifications We are looking for individuals with prior experience in leading a large EMC/Wireless test lab and its staff on supporting a wide variety of customers and product categories. Ideal candidate has a detailed understanding of ITE, Multimedia, Medical and/or Automotive worldwide EMC test standards and methods. Other Key Qualifications include: People management experience running a group of junior and senior engineers and/or technicians. Proficient in EMC and Wireless test methods and have detailed understanding of the nuances of the standards. You have a consistent track record in maintaining EMC report templates at a large EMC test lab with multiple clients for a variety of product lines. Hands-on experience with emissions and immunity test equipment and EMC chambers and are able to solve set up related issues. Experience with lab accreditation processes for a large-scale EMC lab for EMC and/or wireless subject areas. You have experience in preparing and reviewing test reports for a variety of product categories and fields. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and excellent organizational skills. Excellent teamwork skills and people management skills. Highly motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision. Description Description - You will be managing a team of engineers, technicians, and contract staff to maintain and calibrate Apple’s worldwide EMC facilities as well as conduct validation of products.
- Reviewing all aspects of testing carried out by the team including test plan development and execution as well as test report preparation.
- Managing annual OpEx and CapEx budgets for purchases and services needed to build, maintain, and improve the EMC labs.
- Responsible for maintaining EMC report templates that are acceptable to multiple agencies and countries.
- Collaborating with regional compliance teams to keep track of local standards developments, update test methods and report templates as needed, as well as maintaining VCCI registration for Apple test facilities.
- Training and educating design and test engineers on upcoming changes to standards to ensure compliance through proactive measures.
- You will be responsible for developing, publishing, and maintaining Apple corporate EMC standards.
- Responsible for maintaining the accreditation of Apple’s EMC, SAR and 3GPP labs with NVLAP or A2LA.
- Representing Apple on US and international EMC/wireless standards committees and influencing decisions and outcomes.
- Frequently traveling to international destinations to visit factory EMC labs, attend conferences, and standards committee meetings. Education & Experience Education & Experience BSEE with more than 10 years of proven experience managing and operating an EMC test laboratory is required. Additional consideration will be given to experience working on US and international EMC standards development bodies. The base pay range for this role is between $183,400 and $316,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
