THE OPPORTUNITY Join the Betterview team as a Renewals Manager. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for renewing subscriptions as well as nurturing and closing upsell opportunities identified by the Customer Success Manager. Upselling opportunities include; new features within Betterview’s enterprise SaaS software platform, or new products that drive value for a current customer. Betterview’s software is being used by property and casualty insurance carriers that want to improve their quoting, underwriting, and claims processes using the power of geospatial imagery, analytics, and workflow tools. Betterview allows for a better insured and agent experience and impacts their company’s bottom line through greater transparency and speed. As the Renewal Manager, you will have wide-ranging experience from expert negotiations, managing business relationships at all levels of a customer, SaaS contract expertise, and technology product-focused accounts to enable executing across company objectives to resolve complex issues in dynamic and effective ways. You will be responsible for minimizing financial attrition, maximizing the contract value of existing customers, securing highly beneficial terms with our customers, partnering with the Sales, Customer Success and Consulting teams to identify growth and provide key insights to the business that improve future outcomes. A deep understanding of Betterview’s products and the operations of property insurance carriers are critical to success in this role. You will have broad support throughout the renewal process from a variety of roles including Customer Success, Value Consulting, Product Marketing, Revenue, Strategy, Alliances, and the founders of the company. Building strong relationships that enable us to hit annual targets and budgets is an integral part of this role. This role is a salaried position with quarterly and annual bonus availability for top performers. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Directly responsible for developing and implementing strategic renewal plans and providing updates towards goals to company leadership. Understanding and effectively communicating the company’s value prop, specific business value to clients, technology, process and any related partnerships. Building and maintaining good customer relationships at all levels with a clear understanding of the customer decision-making process. Upselling new features or new products that drive value for a current customer. Owning and executing win/win negotiation strategies for renewals that maximize contract value while protecting and enhancing customer trust. Continual engagement with customers throughout the life of the contract. You will partner with Customer Success on quarterly discussions around value including usage review, product enhancements and impact analysis. Collaborating cross functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Value Consulting to develop strategies for upcoming renewals. Maximizing account growth by taking a lead role, in partnership with the customer success team, to understand potential upsell and expansion opportunities. Identifying customer requirements, uncover roadblocks, and demonstrate strong account management and commercial capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure. Experienced at leveraging customer data and behavior to assess the health of each renewal. Defining and implementing a Renewals Playbook as we expand our customer base. Accurately maintaining/updating a rolling forecast and communicating any renewal risk to internal resources to develop resolution strategies. Understanding and articulating the customer’s internal business processes to work collaboratively with internal resources on tailoring a personalized solution for the customer. Renewing customer contracts ahead of their contract expiration. Keeping Salesforce and Gong up to date with current statuses of all owned accounts.
