ABOUT RETOOL: Nearly every company in the world runs on custom business software: Gartner estimates that up to 50% of all code is written for internal usage. This is the operational software for refunding orders, underwriting loans, moderating content, managing marketplaces, rolling out new features, onboarding employees, analyzing transactions, providing customer support…the list is nearly endless. For most companies, building and maintaining all of these tools demands a lot of engineering time—scarce, expensive resources better put to use on customer-facing products. WHY WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU: We've helped our customers build nearly-countless tools to run their business more effectively, tripling our revenue along the way — and we've had a blast doing it! We have even bigger goals in front of us, and to get there, we need a seasoned technical recruiter to deliver best practices, source excellent and relevant talent, and identify motivationally-aligned engineers excited to build one of Sequoia Capital's breakout companies. You'll partner deeply with our Head of Engineering and various cross-functional stakeholders in order to fully understand our hiring bar. We'll also look to you to drive process improvements, hiring strategy, and execution with our technical recruiting team. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity with a certain, outsized impact, hiring the people who build product that many engineers live in daily, shaping the future of software development overall!  WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH: The talent team at Retool is small but extremely impactful. Recruiting has historically been a team sport, and we're proud of the recruiting-forward organization we've built. You'll partner with the team to set goals, ensure a stellar candidate experience, and achieve our aggressive hiring targets. We're a diverse bunch with a variety of backgrounds: some of us come from industries unrelated to tech and others have grown up on a steady diet of Bay-area companies. YOUR SKILL SET: 6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience with a primary focus hiring software engineers Ability to identify, attract, engage, and effectively manage the interview, negotiation, and closing process with high-caliber engineering candidates Superior verbal and written communication skills Deep understanding of high-tech (Silicon Valley) ecosystem of startups/companies and ability to use this knowledge to drive positive outcomes in sourcing strategies and hiring Proficiency with Greenhouse, Gem, and LinkedIn Strong sourcing foundation with the ability to build nuanced/custom searches from scratch Desire to work with other team members, but also happy to work autonomously BA/BS degree preferred IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: Own the full-cycle recruiting process, from our first touchpoint with candidates to closing them in partnership with our head of engineering, engineers, and peers Partner with Retool engineering and TA team to identify non-traditional ways to reach out to and attract candidates Be expected to successfully move candidates through our pipeline and ensure data cleanliness and accuracy Develop relationships with your key stakeholders to ensure success in your role; this includes the TA team, hiring managers, HR/comp, and other cross-functional partners Leverage your recruiting metrics to inform your activity needs, which we'll look to you to interpret, present, and manage Contribute to Retool's mission to build a diverse and performant company, and ultimately change the way all software is built Retool offers generous benefits to all employees.
