What You Get To Do Every Day Responsible for assessing and training watchmakers and watch techs on the condition, authenticity, and functionality of timepieces to increase work flow productivity. Responsible for diagnosing and performing service on moderate and complexity timepieces to restore them The RealReal standards of accuracy and functionality beyond the scope of the watchmakers and watch techs. Responsible for assisting in coordinating the necessary communication between all watchmakers, watch techs, clients, and operations personnel, to receive approval on needed repairs and process accordingly. Continue to provide accurate and expedient simple adjustments and regulations to mechanical movements as well as battery replacement on quartz models to maintain daily goals and quotas.  Work closely with Senior Head Watchmakers and Horology leaders to assist in any requested educational or training initiatives as capable. Partner with Senior Head Watchmakers and Horology leaders to scale and diversify the growth of the company’s watch repair and service initiatives programs. Help coordinate and assist in performing any additional daily tasks as directed by the Senior Head Watchmaker such as directing workflow and curating work load for watchmakers and watch techs. Resource for complicated and rare pieces Mentor and train new watchmakers Authenticate and determine acceptance per provided condition and brand guidelines. Diagnose and perform timing adjustments, minor repairs and battery replacement on a large variety of mechanical and quartz watches and clocks. Inspect and affirm working status of high complication timepieces. Utilize all available resources to decrease rejection rate for non-working watches. Clean cases, bracelets, dials, hands, and crystals. Assess and confirm condition of movement and relevant case/movement numbers. Check condition of bracelets and add all available additional links. Pressure test all applicable watches. Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and supplies. Provide expert guidance and support to Fine Jewelry and Watch team. Work with management, fellow watchmakers and FJW to update and maintain acceptance guidelines and brand(s) awareness. What You Bring To The Role Ability to transfer learning and knowledge to others  Technical writing skills. Effective communicator (both verbal and written). Comfortable teaching and providing constructive feedback in a positive manner. Thrives in a collaborative environment but is also comfortable being delegated specific tasks and projects. Demonstrates the skill and willingness to take initiative and to proactively anticipate. organizational needs including the ability to meet external and internal deadlines as required.   The expected salary range for this role is $77,878.00 - $89,003.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
