What We’re Looking For: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Sr. Manager to head the development and execution of a centralized experimentation platform. You'll lead the architectural design, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and partner closely with our Technical Program Manager to ensure alignment with our overarching strategy. You will be the technical leader for the long-term direction of our experimentation platform. You will have an opportunity to re-evaluate our entire experimentation platform and be empowered to help create high quality developer experiences by assembling a world-class experimentation toolset. Your work will eliminate silos across the organization and enable teams to efficiently configure, run, and analyze experiments to optimize our business. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Design and implement a world-class experimentation platform that empowers teams across 2U to run high quality experiments at high velocity using intuitive tools. Partner closely with the Technical Program Manager, Experimentation to establish operational objectives and plans to implement the company’s strategic experimentation strategy. Research, design, and implement large-scale architectural decisions to build our experimentation platform. Your decisions will require deciding between 3rd party vendor solutions and building custom applications to fit requirements. Lead and manage a team of two software engineers. You will act as a player-coach and be expected to both perform hands-on software development and lead the development efforts of your team. Develop and administer goals, schedules, and conduct performance reviews for your team members.  Serve as the experimentation platform subject matter expert across the company. You will collaborate with engineering teams across the company to ensure the experimentation platform seamlessly integrates with our application and data infrastructure. Things That Should Be In Your Background: 8+ years of software development experience. Strong opinions on how experimentation platforms should be built to enable high-velocity, trustworthy experimentation programs. Real-world experience with architecting complex experimentation platforms, preferably with tools like Optimizely and/or Amplitude. Expertise in full-stack development (Python/React preferred) and familiarity with instrumentation platforms like Segment, Rudderstack, GTM. Familiarity with basic SQL and data analysis. Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with various teams, with substantial experience in prior roles. Experience working in an agile development environment. Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role: Prior experience leading engineering teams. Familiarity with experimentation tools like Optimizely, Google Optimize, Statsig, VWO, etc. Familiarity with systems thinking, DevEx, and building platforms with internal teams as the primary user/consumer.
