Our university and industry partnerships are one of 2U’s greatest strengths and we are looking for an accomplished professional to join the team as a Partner Manager.
The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of partners to deliver on 2U’s mission and business goals. Successful candidates will do so through building trust and mutually beneficial, enduring relationships with their partners, as well as working closely with cross-functional teams across 2U.
Partner Managers bring a combination of business acumen, consultative skills, partner management experience and a proven ability to achieve business results through partnerships.

These come together when faced with managing challenging conversations, varying points of view, and resolving issues across parties. As part of any customer facing role, it is inevitable your responsibilities will include working proactively through complex interactions and relationships. You will be called upon to manage situations like these to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students, partners, and long term relationships.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Relationship Management: Develop and manage key relationships at your partners’ institutions. This starts with onboarding your partners and continues on through their entire time as 2U partners. Partner Managers are responsible for the health, growth and renewal of all partnerships in their portfolio.
Advising: Provide your partners with valued insights and guidance. Ensure your partners understand our platform, growth strategies, and goals. Similarly, ensure your partners understand and participate in our initiatives to improve business results and learner impact. Partner Managers strive to align their partners’ and 2U’s strategies and implement our plans with their support.
Partnership Engagement and Growth: Ensure you partners are contributing new courses and programs on edX.org, year over year. Identify other product line opportunities (degrees and our other alternative credentials) with your partners to help them grow with us and meet learners’ needs and 2U’s goals.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate across 2U to meet our business objectives with partners and effectively coordinate with internal teams.
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Success in other account or partnership management positions where you consistently delivered on added value to your partners and meeting your goals
A track record on developing enduring partner relationships. This includes their primary point(s) of contact and other key stakeholders at varying levels of a partner’s organization
Strong business acumen and communication skills
The ability to effectively manage a portfolio of global partners
Comfortable working with diverse teams and in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Focused on achieving defined results and exceeding goals and objectives
Strong attention to detail and excellent follow through
Ability to think critically and identify potential issues before they arise
Excellent listener balanced with ability to challenge others constructively and stimulate the thinking of others
