The ideal candidate would have experience with mRNA handling and synthesis, cloning techniques, and utilizing lab automation tools. Candidates should be enthusiastic and passionate about bringing the next generation of nucleic acid-based therapies to patients. This role will be based in Emeryville, California. How you’ll contribute:  Optimizing automated cloning workflows to enable mRNA template production Collaborate with automation engineers to increase workflow speed and throughput Collaborate with Pre-Clinical Therapeutic teams to meet project timelines and milestones Collaborate with protein engineers to develop next-generation gene editing systems Prepare accurate and timely data summaries and contribute to writing of reports, papers, and patent manuscripts Must haves:  BS or MS in biology, genetics, molecular biology, related discipline or At least 5 years of relevant research experience and 2 years of experience in a biotech industry setting Hands-on experience with high throughput cloning and associated equipment (Echo, Qpix, Hamilton, etc..) Experience with 96-well plasmid preps, PCR workflows, & DNA/RNA purification techniques Expertise in mRNA production and experience with gene editing and/or mRNA-based therapeutics Hands-on experience with gene-editing technologies in mammalian cells, including analysis of genome-editing outcomes Excellent time management and organizational skills to keep up with demand of requests coming into the team Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge Experience working in a cross collaborative team including bioinformaticians, downstream processing engineers, and project managers Highly collaborative, solutions oriented, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment   California Pay Transparency Disclosure: This position is classified as an  exempt salaried  position under the Federal Labor Standards Act.  The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $105,000.00 to $117,735.00  You will also be eligible to receive equity, bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered.
