The Team You’ll Work With
You’ll be joining our Carta Europe organization and working with the team as a Senior Software Engineer. As a senior engineer joining our team, you'll have a golden opportunity to shape how we work and build things. You’re being brought on board to lead the change, not to be a passenger. We're a team of open-minded individuals that love hearing new ideas and learning from others’ experiences. Bring your views!

The Problems You’ll Solve
We’re rewriting how companies use equity to empower their people. We help businesses unite founders, investors and employees through better equity management and greater access to liquidity – no more waiting for the company to IPO.
In the last few years, we’ve become a leader in our field, providing the easiest way for 1000s of private companies to digitize their equity information and manage employee share schemes. There are no longer any excuses for denying employees a share of the wealth they helped to create.
As part of Carta Europe, you’ll help building our Capdesk from Carta product - which is the #1 equity management platform on the market. You’ll have a chance to have a big impact on our rapidly growing European offering and work across the stack to deliver customer-facing features, where you can directly measure the impact of your contributions.
Our tech stack:
Our frontend infrastructure is composed of two micro-frontend applications. We’re phasing out our legacy AngularJS stack in favor of our new React/TypeScript stack.
Our designers create wireframes and prototypes in Figma.
Our design system is created using Storybook and can be viewed here: https://camo.capdesk.com/
Our back-end runs on Ruby on Rails, using PostgreSQL and Redis.
Our infrastructure runs on Heroku (we like to keep it simple).
We use a few amazing, best of the market tools: Datadog, Sentry, LaunchDarkly.

About You
At Carta, you’re not just an employee. You’re a builder who is creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers more ownership. Cartans are helpful, relentless, unconventional and kind; representing Carta’s Identity Traits. They work collaboratively and cross functionally to challenge the status quo; working towards a common goal of creating more owners in the private markets.
We're looking for engineers with experience delivering value. You've put important features into production and want to keep shipping more. You'll be building new features, improving existing code and collaborating with a team of highly driven and motivated individuals. You're autonomous, able to wrap your head around complex problems and curious to dig into the world of fintech. You like to ship iteratively and to consistently improve the code, leaving it better than it was when you first read it.
You enjoy collaborating with designers and product managers. You have a certain design sensibility that helps you communicate with such stakeholders and elaborate solutions together. You can break down a complex problem into a solution that provides a rich user experience and implement solutions in a scalable future-proof way.
You have strong technical skills and are an excellent collaborator.
You implement systems that are clear, maintainable, and correct.
You are excited by opportunities to both break ground on new projects and provide fresh perspective onto past implementations.
You want to build and own your work end-to-end.
You are eager to move fast, but recognize when to build for the future.
You may be familiar with some elements of the Capdesk from Carta tech stack (Ruby, Rails, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Redis, Heroku); such experience is helpful but we do not require it.
You enjoy mentoring and coaching more junior engineers by bringing your experience to the table and helping them solve problems
You thrive at making an impact both in your squad and across the Engineering department by contributing to cross-squad initiatives
Bonus points if you enjoy contributing to a design system!
