Role Summary:
As the Principal Data Architect, you’ll be at the forefront and key to driving innovation, spearheading transformative projects and foundational improvements. You’ll act as the technical leader who can seamlessly bridge the gap between business requests and architecting the technical landscape to deliver. You will be designing and architecting data platforms and systems, navigating between senior leadership, and the technology teams that own running systems applications, and product and business stakeholders. Your projects will have tremendous impact, be scalable, and at the center of Forge’s strategy.
Responsibilities:
Lead data lake / warehouse infrastructure design and architecture, encompassing ingestion, storage, cataloging, and access.
Define efficient data schemas and structures for data storage and retrieval.
Implement data governance, security, and compliance measures.
Oversee diverse data ingestion processes (batch, streaming, real-time).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements and provide solutions.
Optimize data lake performance, scalability, and cost management.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience architecting enterprise data platforms, with a strong focus on data modeling, data governance, and data security
5+ years of demonstrated technical leadership as a Data Architect in financial services or FinTech
Proficient in programming languages and database technologies (e.g Python, R, SQL),
Extensive experience working with and developing Data Pipelines, Machine Learning Pipelines, and Feature Engineering
Demonstrated experience with DevOps Tooling and AWS Cloud services or similar
Strong knowledge of data storage, distributed systems, and data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS S3, AWS Data Lake Storage, Snowflake).
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience working in Financial Services or FinTech space
PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, and/or a related field
Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer)
Strong foundational knowledge in Math, Computer Science, and Data Science
Proven ability to analyze and present statistical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Comfortable moving quickly and working in a fast-paced, agile, lean environment
For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $250,000 - $270,000 + bonus & equity. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors
