What You’ll Do:
The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of export activity for all Archer business segments/units. The position will focus on assessing and mitigating risk to ensure compliance with U.S. and other applicable export regulations; managing denied party/sanction screening processes; and leading all Archer export registrations and licensing efforts.
Additionally, this role will support the development and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with worldwide import and export laws and regulations.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and conduct export program activity in accordance with relevant U.S. and Canadian government authorities and Archer company policies.
Conduct all aspects of export control including ECCN, ITAR, and other classifications as required.
Ensure appropriate recordkeeping and controls of all export activity and registration files in accordance with regulations.
Act as trade compliance subject matter expert to communicate, collaborate, and respond to all Archer internal queries.
Monitor and identify changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related export trends relevant to Archer; recommend and establish necessary modifications to policies and procedures.
Conduct audit and assessment of business activities for adherence to export control requirements and procedures
Liaison with internal and external counsel as needed.
Develop and provide education plan and subject matter training to team and internal resources.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Need:
4-year degree or equivalent experience in international trade or customs brokerage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international trade or international business environment and regulatory compliance including import, export, ECCN classification, and related compliance.
Expert knowledge of relevant regulations, including those administered by U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury (ITAR, EAR, OFAC).
Proven experience and successes with:
working with U.S. trade regulatory agencies, including US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, and other participating government agencies
interfacing with external suppliers’ trade compliance counterparts to align licensing efforts with day-to-day business needs
Learning and interpreting applicable export regulations, and effectively communicating corresponding requirements to a wide range of internal stakeholders
creating and implementing export control processes and procedures
performing export control classifications for articles, software, or technology controlled on the CCL and/or the USML
Experience with drafting export license applications and requests for use of license exemptions and exceptions
Excellent interpersonal, conceptual, project management, decision-making, problem solving and leadership skills required
Effective communicator both verbally and written with all levels of management, functional staff, and government officials
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
Bonus Qualifications:
Advanced degree such as MBA, JD or joint advanced degree.
Export compliance experience in the aerospace & defense industry.
Experience with freight forwarders, customs officers, customs Brokers, and internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to customs regulations
Knowledge of anti-boycott, AML/KYC, conflict minerals, and privacy compliance

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $149,600-$187,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
