The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the accounting operations of the company. This includes participation in the monthly close process through the preparation of general ledger journal entries and accruals, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, financial reporting, performing account analysis, investigating variances and issue resolution. This role is hands-on and the position will be based out of the Santa Clara headquarters office. This role will also have a special focus on Accounts Payable, including but not limited to monitoring and processing vendor invoices for the company.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
This position works closely and reports to the Accounting Manager and handles all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department.
Post and process payable invoices daily, which may include processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner, reviewing purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, annual 1099 reporting, etc.
Preparation of general ledger entries and closing activities.
Maintain multiple worksheets in use tax, post AP close invoice log, credit card transactions, etc. to assist with month/quarter-end accruals.
Perform worldwide monthly financial close related tasks such as validating accruals, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing analytics and management reporting.
Prepare and post entries in cash, sales, payroll, prepaids, intercompany allocation, accruals, bank reconciliations and other miscellaneous journal entries.
Assist Accounting Manager and Management on delivering special, ad-hoc Accounting and reporting projects as required, and serving as a backup for members of the team as needed.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
5+ years of accounting related or finance experience. Big 4 and industry experienced preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required (certification a plus). (vlookups/pivot tables)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, be results-oriented, able to manage timelines and proactively communicate on-going issues to various team members.
Strong understanding of accrual-based GAAP accounting. Maintaining a good understanding of the business
Prior experience in Coupa strongly preferred
Semiconductor experience a plus
