Job Description: As a Lab Technician at Astera Labs, you will help create and sustain the lab environment and support cross-functional engineering teams. You will be working closely with both PCB/Silicon designers and test/validation engineers to deliver world class products. Astera Labs’ portfolio of connectivity products are used in the world’s leading cloud service providers, server and network OEMs. Key Responsibilities Support electronic laboratory operation. Solve common problems with lab equipment such as temperature chambers, PDU’s, and test equipment Resolve mechanical and electrical issues requiring independent thinking and attention to detail Perform electronic soldering and rework Maintain inventory of common engineering lab supplies Set up new benches and rack-mounted systems needed for new projects Assist with automated data collection by swapping boards/cables/chips Collaborate with engineering team to resolve complex issues Basic Qualifications/Required Experience Associates Degree in electronics or similar field, or the equivalent qualification in training and experience; prior technical lab experience required Ability to read schematic/layout and make recommendations for re-work Strong verbal and written communication skills Minimum of 5 years of soldering / re-work experience on complex PCBA prototypes. Be comfortable removing and replacing 0201-size components Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks; clean work areas, maintain supplies, and utilize systems for maintenance and supply tracking. Ability to follow written procedures to complete complex tasks and recommend improvements to boost efficiency / streamline workflows Preferred Experience Ability to configure/setup computers and test equipment Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
