Overview
This position will be acting as the single point of contact for all purchasing including agreements, negotiations, processing and placing purchase requests and purchase orders. Semiconductor experience is preferred. Looking for someone who can work with little supervision and create new process and policy for the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Create a world class procurement system, policy, and process for the company
Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc. when required
Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
Continuously cultivate and build supplier relationships leading to long term price and service agreements, shared costs savings (through collaborative value analysis/engineering)
Work with the R&D engineering and quality departments to understand their purchasing requirement and facilitate long term relationship with vendors
Partner with R&D engineers and brand/product managers/staff to identify, analyze and perform financial analysis for cost savings opportunities
Manage and improve purchasing system and corporate payment platforms
Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Train employees how to use and enforce the purchasing process and systems
Managing daily purchasing activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of relevant and recent procurement management experience in support of indirect purchases
Strong negotiation skills, including price, service levels, payment, contract, and delivery terms
Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
Manage effective supplier relationships
Demonstrated success with developing a strategic procurement approach in parallel to tactical hands-on engagement
Experience in a start-up organization highly preferred
Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment with competing priorities
Able to change direction and adapt to change easily
Strong work ethic is essential
