Production TrainerStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: ManufacturingPosition Summary:This position will report to the Training Supervisor and be responsible for training activities across multiple production areas. The ideal candidate will partner with the Production Leadership and other stakeholders within the organization such as Human Resources, EHS, Quality, and Engineering for the development of training programs to meet their departmental and corporate objectives. They will Plan, lead, implement, develop, and coordinate Training initiatives and ensure that all training programs and prescribed QMS standards are audited for adherence in preparation for ISO.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesTrains production employees on the safe and effective use of manufacturing machinery or related equipment.Lead the plant in achieving a sustainable safety culture through effective implementation of the plant’s safety processes and initiatives.Demonstrates equipment configuration and operation and explains basic troubleshooting procedures.Monitors the work of newly trained employees and provides retraining as needed.Ensures adequate record-keeping and report filing for compliance on all training records.May demonstrate the appropriate use of personal protection equipment.May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Work with business unit, plant floor, and leadership teams to identify and implement safety and health improvement opportunities based on employee feedback, observations, best practices, and data trends.Serves as an active member of the Plant Safety team, partnering with other leaders to discuss and resolve non-routine issues and challenges.Performs work under general supervision.Flexibility on schedule to train employees on all shifts.Generate and send Training reports as needed (Audits, Monthly, Action Plans, etc.)Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-timeQUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred 1 - 5+ years of manufacturing industry experience; preferably within a technology product manufacturing facility1+ years of direct training experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentSuperior interpersonal skills and communication abilitiesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailDemonstrated proficiency with project management and team leadershipRole model for high standards of professionalismResults-oriented and driven work styleExcellent task-oriented follow-throughPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
