Director, RevenueStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Position SummaryThe Director of Revenue handles a variety of primary duties including: performing work on complex accounting transactions related to ASC 606, reviewing revenue transactions for compliance with US GAAP and SEC Rules, as well as overseeing other technical accounting areas within the general accounting function.  This role serves a critical function to the accounting team as a subject matter expert for revenue recognition under ASC 606 and will be part of a cross functional team working with both the SEC reporting team and finance directors across teams. The ideal candidate should have an exceptionally strong technical accounting background, be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and is willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced, growing organizationCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform research over complex accounting and reporting areas and transactions; review and provide feedback on conclusions in technical accounting position papers related to ASC 606.Lead the financial statement closing for all revenue transactions, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.Ensure new accounting standards related to revenue are adopted properly and implemented efficiently within modern systems and tools.Create and maintain internal accounting policies compliant with SOX, US GAAP, etc. and be built to maximize efficiency and effectiveness related to ASC 606.Partner with external auditors and be available in support of audit requests as a subject matter expert related to Plug Power’s financial reporting related to ASC 606.Maintain current knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting obligations; make recommendations for process changes as dictated by these obligations.Help to prepare internal financial metrics which provide insights related to business results and can help guide strategic decision-making.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfactionPerform all other duties as assigned and required within roleEducation and ExperienceBS in finance/accounting from accredited university; CPA license preferred.10+ years of related work history, with a focus in revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.Exceptional technical accounting skills with the ability to research and solve for complex accounting and reporting transactions, particularly with respect to revenue and ASC 606.Public accounting work experience required; Big 4 Accounting Firm experience highly preferred. Experience working in a public manufacturing company evaluating revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 is highly preferred.Strong grasp of US GAAP and SEC reporting obligations for public companies, with a focus on financial statement disclosures for revenue related to ASC 606.Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Uncompromising dedication to quality.Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Excellent follow-through.Must be driven and self-motivated.Teamwork oriented and focused.Proficiency with Microsoft Office softwareExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.  Pay Rate:$106,849.00 - $170,958.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
