Test Equipment Engineer (Mechanical)Status: Exempt (salaried)     Hours: Full time                                                       Department: 279 Engineering Test CEOJob Location: Rochester, NYPosition SummaryPlug Power is the industry leader in green hydrogen deployment.Plug operates a state-of-the art manufacturing and development facility in Rochester, NY.The Test Equipment Engineer specifies, designs, and commissions fuel cell and Electrolyzer test equipment.  Tasks will flex in a dynamic, growing environment depending on the Engineer’s skills and interests.The Test Equipment team works with facilities, manufacturing, equipment, and product development organizations to ensure that efforts are coordinated and prioritized, providing timely solutions to critical topics. The successful candidate is self-motivated, flexible, handles multiple assignments, and learns and adapts in our fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate P&IDs and electrical schematics of fuel cell and electrolyzer test equipmentCreate mechanical design packages with consideration of ease-of-assembly, serviceability, and overall costCreate necessary bill of materials, component sources, and cost estimatesAssemble, debug, and troubleshoot test equipmentWork professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus on timely execution and customer satisfactionRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfactionPerform all other duties as assigned.Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require that they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.Education and Experience BS or MS mechanical engineeringProficiency with SolidWorksProficiency with Microsoft Visio for creation of P&IDsProficiency with Microsoft Office softwareUnderstanding of electronics as it relates to machine controls.Teamwork oriented and focusedExcellent task-oriented follow-throughDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with teamPay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
