Operational Readiness ManagerStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Design EngineeringPosition SummaryPlug is looking for Operational Readiness Manager to both technically and administratively manage PPS (Plug Process System) scope and services for supporting internal and external client during installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of cryogenic plants. The ideal candidate will also act as a consultant to Plugs key clients and will grow PPS business for field and operation support and aftermarket sales support.This position is the primary contact for all matters related to the mechanical equipment that PPS ships to the site and will coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and sub vendors to support client’s needs.Communication prowess, strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and extensive experience with mechanical and rotating equipment in processing plants are necessary for a successful candidate in this role.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Field SupportScheduling and invoicing of all billable PPS field service functionsContribution to QA/QC program development and procedures that align with industry standards and regulations. Validation of QA/QC program execution specifically regarding rotating equipmentOversee Vendor inspections as required and establish an effective inspection strategy for different packagesOperational readiness consulting with internal and external clients to define the scope of work between shipment of the equipment and start up and to plan with client general contractor or commissioning teamSupport of operations manual writing and editingCoordinate operator trainingoperations, startup, shut down, predictive maintenance, performance monitoring classes.Responsible for planning commissioning and start-up services and oversight (during installation through mechanical completion, pre commissioning, commissioning, pre startup safety review)coordination of SME engineer support for startup and troubleshootingvendor procedures, PPS procedurescoordination with sub vendors for field support and aftermarket servicescreating and driving overall field schedule for commissioning and start up, troubleshooting, monitoringCustomer relationship maintenance and developmentCollaborating with various engineering disciplines and operation support team to streamline field service workflows and eliminate bottlenecksSales and P&L Responsibilities for Field Services SupportUtilizing field and equipment technical experience and deep knowledge about PPS filed work scope, the incumbent in this position is responsible for:Support business development and PPS operation team by finding opportunities for third party facility operation or support of operationSell classroom training (operations, startup, shut down, predictive maintenance, performance monitoringSell services for predictive and preventative maintenance supportSell services for operational optimization consulting, monitoring, and troubleshooting.Spare parts salesIdentification of areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the organizationOther duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in engineering preferably mechanical. Advanced degree preferred.15+ years in sales or field servicesExcellent communicator with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsThe ability to lead cross-functional teamsSoftware expertise in Microsoft Office, Microsoft ProjectAbility to travel. Expected travel of 25%, flexing to up to 50% of the time for emergent/unplanned issues or while solving difficult field issuesTechnical sales experience a plusDeep rotating equipment experience and knowledge a plus
