Senior Internal AuditorStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Internal AuditPosition SummaryThe Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for executing on individual internal audit projects, as part of the total internal audit plan. This responsibility includes developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit workpapers and reports reflecting the results of the work performed. Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units and focusing on financial, IT and operational processes. Additionally, the Senior Internal Auditor will perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues. The Senior Internal Auditor will also assist internal audit management with periodic reporting to the Audit Committee, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business. The Senior Internal Auditor may also direct and review the work performed by other internal audit personnel, as needed.Flourishing in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and project management skills along with a strong background in internal audit and/or business and IT processes.  If you are self-motivated and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced global environment, this will be an exciting career opportunity for you to join an organization that is building sustainable new technologies for a better future.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate, revise and document Internal Audit policies and procedures.Apply understanding of internal audit control practices to plan, perform, manage, and report on various business processes.Assist with implementing audit tools to improve audit efficiencies.Develop audit plans, including assigning controls and areas of potential risk.Plan and perform scheduled audits and follow-up in accordance with established schedule.Document all information pertaining to audit results including risks, findings, observations and provide recommendations for strengthening internal controls and process improvement.Follow up with management on remedial action for any identified areas of risk.Prepare Audit and Executive Summary reports to Audit Committee.Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as ability to use appropriate judgment and discretion.Ability to stay current with industry practices and effectively share knowledge with team members.Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.Ability to communicate effectively across various cross-functional departments including but not limited to IT, Finance, HR.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceMinimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or another related field.A minimum of 4+ years of public accounting and/or private industry experience with knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control areas.Experience with internal auditing standards, COSO and risk assessment practices is strongly preferred.Experience auditing internal controls to meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements is strongly preferred.Understanding of the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting.Experience in performing multiple projects and working with varying team members.CPA/CIA designation is preferred.Prior industry experience is a plus.Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.The ability to work independently in the face of complex assignments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Uncompromising dedication to quality.Excellent follow-through. Must be driven and self-motivated.Pay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
