Facilities Electrical TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Department: FacilitiesPosition SummaryThe primary objective for the Facility Electrical Technician is to technically support the electrical systems throughout the facility.  This role focuses on maintaining and repairing facilities equipment including lab and assembly equipment.  This role will complete repairs and improvements to the facility electrical distribution, lighting, and building controls systems.  Complete general maintenance tasks as required to maintain the buildings and grounds.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork as a member of the Facilities Team to complete specific assigned projectsAssemble new and repair existing production and lab equipmentInstall new lab and facility services including basic electrical and controls systemsInteract with vendors to select proper hardware needed to complete projects and tasks paying strict attention to equipment and piping specifications as well as NEC requirements for hazardous locationsModify existing lab and assembly equipment as required to support fuel cell stack development Complete weekly inspections of facility and lab equipment as requiredMaintain spare part inventory for equipment and support systemsMaintain and repair facility electrical and lighting systemsAssist with the fabrication of prototypes as requiredProvide coverage for other Facilities Department staff during illness and vacationsParticipate in safety reviews and support all EH&S policies and directivesBe available for call-in during off hours as requiredEducation and Experience Associates degree in electrical construction or equivalent work experience3 years’ experience working with facility electrical equipment and systemsThorough understanding of Arc-Flash and OSHA 119.19 electrical on or near requirementsCustomer focused orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workersWell organized, team-player who will take a “hands-on” approach to solve problemsPlug Power Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
