Job Requisition ID #23WD72768Business Job Title: Director, Developer Advocacy Reports To: Emile Kfouri, Senior Director, Developer Ecosystem Location: United States preferred (but candidates based in Europe will be considered) FLSA Classification: Exempt Overview As the Director of Developer Advocacy, your primary focus will be to enhance advocacy, promotion, and adoption of Autodesk products. You'll lead a global team of Developer Advocates, who play a crucial role in driving sales of Autodesk's products and services. In addition, you'll be responsible for managing a diverse ecosystem of partners and customers, including thousands of engineers who develop customized solutions for various industries. Your role will involve supporting major corporations in their Digital Transformation journey and empowering start-ups to succeed with Autodesk technology. You'll have daily interactions with partners worldwide, collaborating on cutting-edge developments in areas such as sustainability, AI/ML integration, and transitioning from file-centric data to Industry Data Models on the Cloud. As the voice of the software partner within Autodesk, you'll stay at the forefront of technology trends and build relationships with industry leaders. Your role will be pivotal in driving Autodesk's evolution and growth as a cloud-based platform company. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, implement and manage software developer programs and activities around the world. Building and managing a global team that identifies and develops close partnerships with key members of the Autodesk Developer Network and users of Autodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge) - recruiting new members that provide high priority high value capabilities. This includes getting directly involved with growing and engaging development partners in the Americas – while managing Autodesk Developer Advocates around the world On a global basis, manage a team identifying, recruiting, developing close relationships, and persuading key software and services partners to support the latest Autodesk products and technologies – from desktop to cloud. Building trust and influence with the top Autodesk software partners around the world (customers, ISVs and System Integrators). Work closely with product teams to target and develop persuasive relationships with key developers – including support for “Vanguard Teams” made up of Customers, ISVs and SIs. Work closely with Autodesk sales management (Named Accounts, Mid Market and Channel) teams to grow customer use and value creation from Autodesk APIs/Platforms. This includes platform programs, support and training for Autodesk sales team members. Work closely with marketing teams to drive awareness and engagement with Autodesk Platforms (fill the top of the lead funnel). Supporting/delivering persuasive Platform presentations/discussions as part of customer Executive Briefings (primarily F2F in San Francisco and/or Boston). Drive the creation and delivery of proactive outbound virtual and in person events that drive adoption of new Autodesk platform technologies to grow the commercial value delivered by our ecosystem partners. Partnering with Developer Technical Services management and engineers to enhance the program offerings and services delivered (proactive and reactive support). Establish a 1 to many relationship with all Americas software partners including providing them with an emergency contact. Drive application support in the Americas for the latest releases of Autodesk products and services (i.e. next release of AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Fusion 360, Civil 3D, Collections, Autodesk Construction Cloud, other cloud services, the APS Platform, and so on). Success metrics include: Growth in number of partners and customers using Autodesk Platform APIs (Autodesk Platform Services and Desktop) Growth in the number of members of the Autodesk Developer Network Growth in usage of Autodesk Platform Services (Monthly Active Users) Growth in publishers, apps and sales through the Autodesk App Store Growth in number of Autodesk sales team members (employees and channel partners) who can effectively sell the Autodesk Platform Employee Engagement for your team Requirements University degree with specialization in business and/or technology. Ten years minimum experience in technology business development, marketing or developing partner channels/ecosystems in the technical software industry. Fluent in computer science concepts and terminology (having done “some” software development in the past is not a requirement but is a plus). Familiar with design and engineering professions and practices in a few industries such as architecture, civil, mechanical and manufacturing industries (the more of these the better) Able to travel up to 60 days per year. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $164,200 and $265,650. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
