Our industry-leading, trendsetting edge-to-core solutions provide the foundation for many of the world’s largest and most demanding networks that generate billions in service revenue for our customers.Manufacturing Process Engineer – PIC wafer processLocation: Sunnyvale, CADevelop, qualify, release and optimize wafer fabrication processes, including photolithography, etch, and deposition on existing and new technology generations.Improve existing processes of record in the Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) wafer fab.Execute projects to improve yield, PIC performance, and process control.Support hardware and process roadmap required to support both existing and developing PIC technology, including pattern transfer and integration aspects.Participate on various cross functional teams as a technical content expert.Execute projects related to capacity expansion and process simplification in the wafer fab modules.Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:  Optimize coat, exposure and develop processes related to PIC wafer fabrication.Develop and deploy control plans to keep photo-lithography, etch, and deposition processes operating within performance parameters.  Troubleshoot wafer fabrication process problems and drive details of improvement project execution to enable a smooth flow of production and development wafers in the fab.Execute process development and lithography, etch, and deposition roadmap activities needed for future PIC technology.  Participate on various cross functional teams to improve yields, solve process problems, simplify procedures and processes, and release new tools and processes with improved capacity and capability.  Work in partnership with the PIC R&D team on executing the development and qualification of new processes required to deliver new high-performance multi-Tb PICs.Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:JMP, DOE, SPC and their application to semiconductor manufacturingWorking knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, and expertise in photo-lithography, etch, deposition, and related processes.  Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with semiconductor process development and new process introduction.Experience consistent with supporting an operations team, writing and training of fab procedures, root cause analysis and problem resolution.Additional Job DescriptionPreferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Technical depth in aspects of photo-lithography, etch, deposition, or similar tools and processes used for semiconductor manufacturing.  5 years’ experience in broad aspects of semiconductor wafer fabrication.Clear communication of problems, challenges, and leadership in deploying solutions.A working knowledge and experience from path-finding through release to production.  Ability to partner with integration engineering and development teams on the wafer fab engineering roadmap for PIC technologyCompound semiconductor background a plusEducation/Experience Required:  BS with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or an Associates’ degree with 5 years’ experience in one of these Engineering disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.#LI-SR2Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
