Our role is to provide technical support to the design, release, stabilization, and eventual site transfer of new products and process technologies. This person will contribute to the development and release of next generation Flow Cell MFG technology by supporting highly automated and innovative processes; in addition to manufacturing sustaining efforts on optical, mechanical, electrical and fluidics systems in a high volume, consumables manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:Participate in day to day equipment and process sustaining activities.Define and perform complex Preventative Maintenance.Develop, write and update Preventative Maintenance procedures.Apply mechanical, optical, and fluidics knowledge to troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues, as they arise; in addition to understand and improve manufacturing processes.Work in a team environment to improve equipment reliability and uptime.Work with Development and vendors to design and install new equipment and technology for manufacturing.Train Equipment Engineering Technicians and production personnel on procedure, process or equipment changes.Constructs and executes controlled experiments (including DOE’s) to address yield and quality issues and drives implementation of solutions in a production environment to meet production goals.All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Preferred Educational Background: B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Manufacturing or Physics or Associates degree in related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.Preferred Experiential Background:Strong demonstrated electro/mechanical aptitude is required.Basic computer and mechanical troubleshooting skills are required.Experience with Laser Systems, Pick and Place systems and/or Wire Bonding is a plus.Experience with DOE techniques is a plus.Experience with high volume manufacturing is a plus.Good interdepartmental communication skills and documentation skills are required.Proven experience in a mechanical assembly of complex precision opto/mechanical modules and ability to read mechanical assembly drawings and Bill Of Materials (BOM) a plus.The estimated base salary range for the Equipment Engineer 2 role based in the United States of America is: $60,500 - $90,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
