Our products are used for applications in the life sciences, oncology, reproductive health, agriculture and other emerging segments.Position Summary:Illumina is seeking a Finance Director to provide finance and business leadership to its China organization to drive short- and long-term strategic goals and priorities. This critical role must advise and influence the China Region Head and other key members of senior management on investment priorities, decision support, financial planning, budgeting and policy matters. This role is a key advisor to the China leadership team, assisting in the formulation of regional strategies to support a multi-year growth agenda.This leadership position reports to the Global Commercial CFO and serves as the head of commercial finance in China, partnering with key stakeholders in the region, as well as globally. This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to understand and directly influence the Illumina China business, helping to develop its strategies and address its challenges.As this position is a key leader in the Greater China and Global Commercial Finance leadership team, the China Commercial Finance Director will be a well-rounded finance leader with experience managing the finance function for a large, global organization, ideally in life sciences, medical technology, pharma, or high-tech industries.Tasks and Responsibilities:Key finance business partner to the Greater China Head of Region and the respective management team.Provide strategic financial insight to formulate business strategies & growth plans.Drive execution of strategic growth plan to deliver on short-term and long-term goals.Anticipate business trends, assess risks and recommend alternative solutions to meet financial and business objectives.Influence decision making through partnering with senior leaders to enable organization to meet its strategic initiatives.Drive the annual budgeting process. Direct, manage and drive all input required for budget, working closely with China Leadership team, global commercial team and global functional teams.Drive the quarterly and monthly forecast processes.  Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service & Support, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure revenue, operating expense and capital expense forecast accuracy.Drive improvements to the budget and forecast processes to ensure forecast accuracy and process efficiency.Direct and develop the quarterly business review reports and other appropriate financial presentation materials to support business decision making. Develop appropriate presentation material for business reviews and present to business leaders.Review and drive financial modeling to support new operating decisions and investment opportunities and ensure that the appropriate financial and business risks have been identified and evaluated.Forecast, monitor, analyze and communicate actual vs. forecast / budget variances regularly to the Region Head and functional heads, to drive operational changes.Work closely with Global Operations and Global Operations Finance on Greater China Manufacturing activities.Drive continuous improvements in business processes.Partners and work closely with the Shared Service Center / Service Providers on any accounting & tax matters.Assist with implementing Company's policies and procedures to ensure the protection of Company assets through established internal control systems.Provide training and insights to support team to enhance financial acumen.Lead, develop & motivate the Greater China Finance team including matrix reporting members by fostering a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and professional development.Undertaking and completing other ad-hoc projects.All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.Educational Background:Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field is requiredMBA and/or CPA or equivalent preferredExperiential Background: Minimum of 12 years of relevant accounting and financial experience in a multinational environment.An energetic self-starter with excellent inter-personal skills who can communicate across all levels in the organization.Strong analytical, problem solving, planning and decision making skills, including understanding numeric and business relationships.Critical thinker and good business acumen i.e. go beyond numbers.Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles, such as budgeting processes, forecasting, financial modeling, etc. Good understanding of US & local GAAPHands on experience in planning & forecasting systems, Cognos, TM1 & SAPMust be fluent in English & Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)Excellent communication and relationship building skillsProven leadership skills and management experience leading teams Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills Prior biotechnology, medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience desired.Illumina believes that everyone has the ability to make an impact, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, citizenship status, and genetic information.
