The position requires strong working knowledge of patent docketing for US, PCT and foreign jurisdictions. Knowledge of trademark docketing a plus.*Illumina offers hybrid and remote work arrangements. Must be able to commute to our San Diego HQ at least once per week.Responsibilities:Review, process, docket, and de-docket daily incoming correspondence and documents from outside counsel, foreign associates and internal IP team ensuring integrity and accuracy of the dataDownload, review, process and docket USPTO correspondenceThis position will require Trademark & Copyright docketing but training will be provided if neededRoutinely apply judgment to ensure that risk management is safeguarded and docket data is complete and accurateOpen new patent, trademark and copyright records in docketing databaseReview, update and justify Invention Disclosure database with docketing databaseCreate docket reports for IP team upon requestPrepare and send daily docket reports with follow-up de-docketingAssist with annuity docketing and coordinationAssist with ingest of acquisitions and licensed cases, including uploading of documentationAct as liaison and resource between company attorneys, staff, outside counsel and outside organizations providing docketing guidance and expertiseMay be required to provide overflow, administrative and IP prosecution paralegal duties as neededRequirements:Minimum 2 - 5 years of patent docketing experienceTrademark and Copyright docketing a plus (this position will require learning this skill)Must have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to flex in a frequently shifting environmentAbility to work under minimal supervision, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, resourcefulness and accountabilityAbility to prioritize daily workload, as well as recognize and act on important details and deadlinesBe self-motivated with the capability to work both independently and as part of the teamExperience with FoundationIP and Lecorpio a plusStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office programsEducation:Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification a plus#LI-HYBRIDThe estimated base salary range for the IP Paralegal (IP Docketing Specialist) role based in the United States of America is: $72,000 - $108,000. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
