This includes capturing historical trends, managing exceptions, and creating and maintaining forecast models incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance and other sources.In managing these inputs, the Sr. Demand Planner is ultimately accountable for presenting a total demand picture to drive collaboration between demand stakeholders within the consensus planning process. This role will also be responsible for leading the regional demand planning process and will serve as the integration point for sales, commercial and supply chain organizations. Please note that this is a hybrid role to be based partly on-site in Cambridge, UK. The successful candidate will need to have fluent English language skills and additional European language skills (German, French, or Italian) would be preferred . Illumina's employee benefits are industry-leading and include, flexible time off, private medical insurance, compassion and care time off, leisure travel insurance, pension, employee stock purchasing program, volunteer time off, and much more!Tasks and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain forecasting models using SAP IBP Demand Planning module and other demand management tools.Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, interpret baseline forecast data developed from statistical forecast models, and provide market intelligence inputs.Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.Engage with supply chain and new product development teams to drive focus on products with key growth factors and operational constraints.Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.Assist with design and implementation of demand planning tools.Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in creating the supply plan and developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.Create key performance metrics for both demand plan and S&OP effectiveness; drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve effectiveness of demand plan and management of demand for New Product Introductions and version change initiatives.Preferred Experiential Background:Considerable demand planning experience managing multiple product lines, preferably in life sciences, medical device or high-tech industries.Knowledge of ERP/MRP, BI Tools, CRM systems. Experience with SAP IBP/APO being beneficialDirect experience in working with a demand management implementation preferred.Experience in leading and facilitating demand reviews and other consensus-related meetings.Basic understanding of statistical analysis, with experience in Tableau reporting preferred.Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.Ability to analyze and resolve planning problems independently and collaboratively.Demonstrated initiative, solid judgment and creativity in overcoming obstacles.Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.Demonstrated experience in collaboration with cross-functional teammates.Demonstrated project management skills.Preferred Educational Background:BA/BS in Marketing, Analytics, CS, Data Analysis, Economics, or Business. What Can You Expect Our team members are bright, energetic and dedicated - they are the driving force behind our innovation and impact.
